21ـ رسولُ اللهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): حَسبُكَ مِن الكذبِ أن تُحَدِّثَ بكُلِّ ما سَمِعتَ. |
21– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘It suffices as lying for you to repeat everything that you hear.’[Tanbih al-Khawatir, v. 2, p. 122] |
22ـ رسولُ اللهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ) - لَمّا سالتهُ أسماءُ بنتُ يَزيدَُ: إن قالَت إحدانا لِشيءٍ تَشتَهيهِ: لا نَشتَهيهِ، أيُعَدُّ ذلكَ كِذباً ؟ - : إنّ الكِذبَ لَيُكتَبُ حتّى يُكتَبَ الكُذَيبَةُ كُذَيبَةً. |
22– The Prophet (SAWA), when Asma’ bint Yazid asked him, ‘If one of us were to say about something we desired: ‘I do not desire it’, would this be considered lying?’ He replied, ‘A lie is written as a lie, and a white lie is written as a white lie.’[al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib, v. 3, p. 597, no. 32] |
23ـ عن عبد اللّهِ بن عامِرٍ: دَعَتني اُمِّي يَوما ورسولُ اللّهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ) قاعِدٌ في بَيتِنا، فقالت: ها تَعالَ اُعطِكَ، فقالَ لها رسولُ اللّهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): ما أرَدتَ أن تُعطِيَهُ ؟ قالت: أرَدتُ أن اُعطِيَهُ تَمراً، فقالَ لَها رسولُ اللّهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): أما إنّكِ لو لم تُعطِهِ شيئاً كُتِبَت علَيكِ كِذبَةٌ. |
23– `Aabdullah b. ‘Amir narrated, ‘My mother called me one day when the Prophet (SAWA) was sitting in our house, and she said, ‘Come here so I can give you something.’ The Prophet (SAWA) asked her, ‘What did you want to give him?’ She said, ‘I wanted to give him a date.’ So the Prophet (SAWA) said to her, ‘If you were not to have given him anything, it would have been written against you as a lie.’[al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib, v. 3, p. 598, no. 34] |
