* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Mohammad bin Qays that he heard Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) talking to people in Makka saying: “ The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) prayer the dawn the prayer then he sat with his companions till sunrise. Men started leaving one after another till only two remained. One is an Ansari and the other is Thaqafi. The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said to them: “I know that you want to ask about a matter. If you want I can tell you before you ask me and if you want ask me.” They said: “You tell us before we ask you for this is makes our faith stronger and removes any doubt.” The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “As for you Thaqeef. You came to ask me about your Wodou’ (ablution) and prayer, how much you earn of good by them. As for your Wodou’, when you put your hands in the pot and say “In the name of Allah” all the sins that you committed by your hands are washed away. When you wash your face, all the sins that you committed by your mouth and eyes are washed away. When you wipe your head and feet, all the sins that walked towards it are washed away. This is what you earn from your Wodou’.” [1]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Saa’dan from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) said: “Purity over purity is equivalent to ten righteous deeds.” [2]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book:Reported from Mohammad Ibn Kardous from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “He who purifies himself and goes to his bed, his bed will be regarded as his mosque…”[3]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book:Reported from Zurara from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “he shall find no good in his hereafter he who neglects Wodou’ and prayer out of laziness. He shall find no good in his life he who doesn’t work to improve his conditions out of laziness.” [4]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book:Reported from Abou Baseer from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said that Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) said: “clean clothes clear away so burdens and grief and it is pure for praying.” [5]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Toussi states in Tahtheeb Al-Ahkam Book: Reported from Abdellah bin Sanan from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “no one should blame but himself if he asked for a need while not being on Wodou’.” [6]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Toussi states in Tahtheeb Al-Ahkam Book: Reported from Zurara from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh): “When it the time of prayer, prayer and purification become obligatory. There is no prayer without purification.” [7]
* Reported from Abou Is’haq Al-Hamadani from Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) in his letter to Mohammad bin Abi Baker when he assigned him as the ruler of Egypt. “… Wodou is a compliment of prayer. Gurgle* three times and sniff water three times. Wash your face then your right hand and then your left. Then wipe your head and your feet for I saw the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) doing that. Know that Wodou is half of faith.” [8]
* Ghurar Al-Hikam Book: Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) said: “the best of people is he who purified himself from desires.” [9]
* Al-Mirza Al-Nouri states in Moustadrak Al-Wasa’el Book: The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said:” Floss for it is cleanliness. Cleanliness is from faith and faith and he who has faith are in heaven.” [10]
* Ibn Abi Jumhur Al-Ihasa’ee states in Awali Al-La’ali Book: Reported from Al-Amraki from Sayyid Ali Bin Jaa’far from his brother Imam Moussa Bin Jaa’far (Pbut) from his forefathers from the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) that he said: “Wodou over Wodou is light over light.” [11]
* Da’aem Al-Islam Book: Reported from Imam Ali (Pbuh) from the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) that he said: “ A group from my nation will be shining in purity on Resurrection Day because of the Wodou.” [12]
Filthiness
* Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Khalid Al-Barqi states in Al-Mahasin Book: Reported from Abou Khadija from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “Don’t leave your pots without covers. For Satan spits in it if it wasn’t covered and takes whatever he wants from it.” [13]
* Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Khalid Al-Barqi states in Al-Mahasin Book: Reported from Abdellah bin Maimoun from Imam Abou Jaa’far from his father from Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbut) that he said: “clean your yards from spider webs. For it derived poverty if you leave it in your homes.” [14]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Abou Baseer from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said that Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) said: “Allah is beautiful and loves beauty and he loves to see the effect of the bounty on the servant.”
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book:Reported from Mohammad bin Hamza Al-Asha’ari from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “removing the hair from the nose beautifies the face.” [15]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book:Reported from Abou Hamza from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he said: “Clipping nails was because the nails are the house of demons and it derives forgetfulness.” [16]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book:Reported from Abou Oussama from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “Perfume is one of the standards of messengers.” [17]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book:Reported from Yaqoub bin Salim from Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) that he said: “Don’t push sand to behind the doors for it is the shelter of demons.” [18]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Ilal Al-Sharai Book: Reported from Ismaeel bin Muslim from Imam Jaa’far Bin Mohammad (Pbuh) from his forefathers (Pbut) from the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) that he said: “don’t grow your moustaches or pelvic hair or the hair under your armpits for demons take them as a shelter for hiding.” [19]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Al-Amali Book: Reported from Hijir bin Zaida from Imam Abou Abdellah Al-Sadiq (Pbuh) that he said: “He is in hell he who leaves one hair when washing after Janaba.” [20]
* Al-Hor Al-Amili states in Wasa’el Al-Shia Book:Imam Ali (Pbuh) said: “never be lazy. For he doesn’t fulfill the rights of Allah he who is lazy. Wash yourselves with water to remove any odor that harms others. Know that Allah hates his dirty servants that people smell their dirty odors in gatherings.” [21]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Toussi states in Al-Amali Book:Reported from our Imam Sadiq (Pbuh) that he said: “Allah loves beauty and beautifying and He hates misery. When Allah grants a servant a bounty, He likes to the effect of this bounty on his servant.” One asked: “How is that?” Imam (Pbuh): “By cleaning his clothes, putting nice perfumes, cleaning and ornamenting his house, and sweeping his yards. Even putting on the lanterns before sunset pushes poverty away and increases livelihood.”
* Da’aem Al-Islam Book: Reported from Imam Ali (Pbuh) that he said: “Ibrahim was told to purify himself so he shaved his moustache. Then he was told to purify himself so he shaves his armpits. Then he was told to purify himself so he shaves his pelvis. Then he was told to purify himself and so he circumcised himself.” [22]
