* Al-Sheikh Al-Moufeed states in Al-Khisal Book: Reported from Suleiman bin Dawood from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “There is no sin greater in the sight of Allah that a child of Adan can do than killing a Prophet or an Imam, or destroying Kaa’ba that Allah had set as the Qibla of His servants or a man emptying his semen in a woman that isn’t his wife.” [1]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Al-Amali Book: Reported from Nawf Al-Bakali from Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) that he said: “He lied he who claimed that he is not a bastard child and yet he loves fornicating. He lied he who claimed that he knows Allah and yet he dares to disobey Allah each day and night.” [2]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Moufeed states in Al-Khisal Book: Reported from Al-Moufaddal bin Amr that he heard Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) say: “Allah spared our followers from being bastard children or having bastard children.” [3]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Al-Amali Book: Reported from Ibrahim Ibn Ziad Al-Karkhi from Imam Jaa’far Bin Mohammad Al-Sadiq (Pbuh) that he said: “Three are the marks of bastard children: bad presence, loving to fornicate and hating us AL Mohammad.” [4]
* Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Khalid Al-Barqi states in Al-Mahasin Book: Reported from Sabah bin Siaba that he said that Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) was asked: “Does the fornicator stay a believer while fornicating?” Imam said: “When he is on top of her, faith is taken out of him. If he moves away from her, faith is brought back to him.” One asked: “If he goes back to her?” Imam: “Many are the times that he wills to come back but he doesn’t come back.” [5]
* Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Khalid Al-Barqi states in Al-Mahasin Book:Reported from Abdellah bin Bakeer that he said to Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh): “The Messenger of Allah says: “When a man fornicates, the soul of faith leaves him.”“ Imam (Pbuh): “ Allah said {He aided them with a soul of His}. This soul leaves them.” [6]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Abou Jamila from Imam Abou Jaa’far and Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbut) that they said: “everyone has a share of fornication. The fornication of the eyes is looking. The fornication of the mouth is kissing. The fornication of hands is touching. It is fornication regardless of the genitals.” [7]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Obeidellah bin Ziad from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “be righteous to your parents so that your children become righteous to you and avoid the women of people so that you women are avoided.” [8]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Moujahid from his father from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “One of the sins that shorten livelihood is fornication.” [9]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Oyoun Akhbar Al-Rida (Pbuh) Book: Reported from Mohammad bin Sanan from Imam Rida (Pbuh) when he answered the questions sent to him about fornication: “Allah forbade fornication for it leads to corruption of killing souls, wrong lineages, quitting raising babies, wrong inheritance and other corruptions similar to these.” [10]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Thawab Al-A’mal Book: Reported from Abou Baseer from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “who is addicted to stealing, fornication and intoxicants is like who worships idols.” [11]
* Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Khalid Al-Barqi states in Al-Mahasin Book: Reported from Abdel-Malik bin Ayon that he heard Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) say: “When a man is fornicating, Satan enters his genital and so their seeds become one. If a child was born from this seed, Satan is his partner in fatherhood.” [12]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Man La Yahduruhu Al-Faqeeh Book: Reported from Amrou bin Abi Miqdam from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he said: “ Among the inspirations of Allah to Moussa bin Omran was : “O Moussa, He who fornicates shall suffer from fornication even if in his descendents after him. O Moussa bin Omran, avoid women so that your women are avoided. O Moussa bin Omran, if you want the plenty good for your household, never fornicate. O Moussa bin Omran, as you judge you are judged.” [13]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Man La Yahduruhu Al-Faqeeh Book: Reported from Salim from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “the man suffering from the most painful torment on Resurrection day is a man who casts his semen in a womb forbidden from him.” [14]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Man La Yahduruhu Al-Faqeeh Book: Reported from Ibn Al-Qaddah from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “Yaqoub (pbuh) said to his son: “O Son, Don’t fornicate for if a bird fornicates his feathers would have fallen.”“ [15]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Al-Fadel bin Abi Qurra from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “ When The Knowledgeable (Al-Khodor) built the wall, Allah inspired Moussa (pbuh) with: “I’m rewarding the descendents because of the work of the forefathers. Good with good and evil with evil. Don’t fornicate for that if you did your women will fornicate. Whoever sleeps on a bed of Muslim shall have his bed slept on. As you judge you will be judged.” [16]
* Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Khalid Al-Barqi states in Al-Mahasin Book: Reported from Abou Hamza from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he said: “Don’t fornicate for if you do that I shall veil from you the light of my face and the doors of skies close blocking your prayers.” [17]
* Al-Mirza Al-Nouri states in Moustadrak Al-Wasa’el Book: Reported from Hisham bin Salim from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said talking about the Ascent to the sky: “The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: while walking I saw women hanged by their breasts. I said: “Who are these O Jibraeel?” He said: “These are the ones who spend the money of their men on children that aren’t for them.” The rage of Allah is extreme on a woman that instilled a child into people who is not one of them because he eats from their money and sees what is forbidden to be seen from them.” [18]
* Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Khalid Al-Barqi states in Al-Mahasin Book: Reported from Zaid bin Ali from Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) that he said: “On Resurrection Day, Allah blows a wind with a foul odor that harms everyone there till it almost suffocates them. Then one calls unto them: “Do you know what is this odor that harmed you?” They say: “No and yet it harmed us well.” He says: “This is the smell of the genitals of fornicators who stood before Allah not repenting from fornication. So damn them, May Allah damn them.” Imam said: “So everyone standing say: “O Allah, damn the fornicators.”“[19]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Is’haq bin Abi Hilal from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said that Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) said: “Shall I tell you about the grandest fornication?” They said: “Yes.” Imam (Pbuh) said: “A woman that fornicates on her husband’s bed and brings him a child to take care of that is not his. Such woman is the woman that Allah doesn’t talk to or looks at or purifies on Resurrection Day and severe and painful is her torment.” [20]
* Al-Hor Al-Amili states in Wasa’el Al-Shia Book: Reported from Ibn Al-Qaddah from Imam Jaa’far Bin Mohammad (Pbuh) from his forefathers (Pbut) that he said: “Boys and girls can sleep in the same room till they reach ten years.”[21]
Chastity
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Zurara from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he said: “There is no way of worshiping Allah better than chastity of stomach and genitals.” [22]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Abdellah bin Maimoun Al-Qaddah from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said that Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) used to say: “The best worship is chastity.” [23]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Al-Sukuni from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “The two matters that drive my nation to hell the most are the two insides: Stomach and genitals.” [24]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Obeidellah bin Ziad from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “be righteous to your parents so that your children become righteous to you and avoid the women of people so that you women are avoided.” [25]
* Al-Humairi Al-Qummi states in Qurb Al-Isnad Book: Reported from Abdellah bin Maimoun from Imam Jaa’far Al-Sadiq (Pbuh) that he said: “The Messenger of Allah (Pbuh) said: “ Be truly shy before Allah.” They said: “What we must do O Messenger of Allah?” He (Pbuh) said: “you must always see your death before your eyes. You must safeguard the mind and what it is aware of and the inner-side and what it contains. You must always remember the graves and the afflictions. He who seeks the Hereafter should abandon the ornaments of Donia.” [26]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Al-Khisal Book: Reported from Zaid bin Ali from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “He earns heaven he who is free from four traits: being occupied in Donia, following caprice and desires of stomach and genitals.” [27]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Houwaizi states in Tafseer Nour Al-Thaqalain Book: Reported from Abou Al-Jaroud from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he explained { We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover your shame and feathers} and said: “raiment are the clothes that you wear and the feathers are the joys and money. As for the garment of piousness, it is chastity. The shame of the chaste one doesn’t appear even if he was naked. Yet the shame of the obscene is always seen even if he was covered with clothes. Allah says: {The garment of piousness is good} Chastity is the best of that from the signs of Allah for you might remember.” [28]
* Al-Hussein bin Saeed Al-Kufi states in Kitab Al-Zohod Book: Reported from Hamza bin Himran from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “An Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) and said to him: “advise me.” He (Pbuhp) said: “I advise you to protect what is between your legs.”
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Khalid from his companions from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “You have to be chaste and avoid obscenity.”“ [29]
Shyness
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Al-Asbagh bin Nabata from Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) that he said: “Allah created desire and made it into ten parts. He places nine parts in women and one part in men. If Allah hadn’t given them shyness in the same number of desire, everyman would have had nine women attached to him.” [30]
* Al-Hor Al-Amili states in Wasa’el Al-Shia Book: Reported from Abou Baseer from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “The best of your women is the one undresses shyness when she undresses for her husband and wears shyness back when she wears her clothes.” [31]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Al-Fadeel bin Yasar that he asked Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh): {they don’t show their ornaments but to their husbands} are the arms of women ornaments?” He (Pbuh) said: “Yes, what is other than the face veil and what is behind the wrist.” [32]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Abou Obeida Al-Hathaa’ from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “Shyness is from faith and faith is in heaven.” [33]
* Al-Mirza Al-Nouri states in Moustadrak Al-Wasa’el Book: Abou Al-Qasim Al-Koufi wrote in Al-Akhlaq Book that once the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) saw a man washing in a place where people can see him. So he said: “Shyness is the ornaments of Islam.” [34]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Toussi states in Al-Amali Book: Reported from Abou Thar from the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) that he said: “O Abou Thar, do you like to go to heaven? He said: “Yes, may my father be sacrificed for your sake.” He (Pbuhp) said: “So shorten hope, always have death before your eyes and be truly shy before Allah.” He said: “O Messenger of Allah, all of us are shy before Allah” He (Pbuhp) said: “Not that shyness. Shyness before Allah is in not forgetting graves and afflictions, the inner-side and what it contains, and the head and what it is aware of. He who wants a generous honorable reward must abandon the ornaments of Donia. When you are like, you are truly loyal to Allah.” [35]
* Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Khalid Al-Barqi states in Al-Mahasin Book: Reported from Madrak bin Abdel-Rahman from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “Islam is naked and shyness it its clothes. Its ornaments is loyalty, its magnanimity is righteous acts, its pillar is fear. Every matter has a base and the base of Islam is loving us Ahlul-Bayt.” [36]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Al-Fadel bin Katheer from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “He has no faith he who has no shyness.” [37]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Ahmad bin Abi Abdellah from his companions from the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) that he said: “there are two kinds of shyness. The shyness of Mind and the shyness of foolishness. The shyness of mind is knowledge and the shyness of foolishness is ignorance.” [38]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Ali bin Abi Ali Al-Lahibi from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “Allah changes the sins to righteous deeds of one if he has four traits: Honesty, shyness, righteous morals, and gratitude. Even if he was filled from top to bottom with sins.” [39]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Jaber bin Yazeed Al-Joafi from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he said: “The shame of he whose clothes are shyness is never apparent to people.” [40]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Moufeed states in Al-Amali Book: Reported from Anas bin Malik from the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) that he said: “obscenity shames every matter that is in it and shyness ornaments every matter that is in it.” [41]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Tabrasi states in Makarim Al-Akhlaq Book: Reported from Abou Saeed Al-Khidri that he said: “The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) was very shy. He gives whatever he is asked.” [42]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Tabrasi states in Makarim Al-Akhlaq Book: Reported from Abou Saeed Al-Khidri that he said: “The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) was more shy than the virgin. If he hated a matter, we directly knew it from his face.” [43]
* Nahej Al-Balagha Book:Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) said to his son Al-Hassan Bin Ali (Pbuh): “Shyness is the cause leading to every beauty.”
The Dyoth
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Al-Khisal Book: Reported from Jaber from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he said: “The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “Heaven can be smelled from a distance of five hundred thousand years. Yet a misbehavior man or a Dyoth can’t smell it.” one asked: “Who is the Dyoth?” He (Pbuhp): “He who knows that his wife fornicates.”[44]
* Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Khalid Al-Barqi states in Al-Mahasin Book: Reported from Mohammad bin Muslim from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he said: “Allah doesn’t accept the prayers of three. One of them is the Dyoth that his wife fornicates.” [45]
The Punishments.
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Al-Halabi from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “four witnesses who saw it coming in and out are mandatory to execute stoning to death.”[46]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Soma’a from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “The punishment of a free man or woman who fornicated is one hundred thumps. Yet the married are stoned to death.” [47]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Ilal Al-Sharai Book: Reported from Mohammad bin Sanan that Imam Rida (Pbuh) was asked about the reason behind thumping the fornicator with maximum power. He (Pbuh)said: “The fornicator is thumped on his body with maximum power because he intended to fornicate and because all his body felt pleasure. So thumping is his punishment and a good lesson for others. It is the greatest crime.” [48]
* Ali bin Babawaih states in Fokoh Al-Rida Book: The fornicator must be thumped with maximum power from top to bottom because he felt the pleasure in all his organs. [49]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Man La Yahdurofu Al-Faqeeh Book: Soma’a reported from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh): “The Punishment of the fornicator is one of the hardest punishments.” [50]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Toussi states in Tahtheeb Al-Ahkam Book: Reported from Ibrahim bin Jaa’far from his father (Pbuh) from Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) that he said explaining {Don’t feel pity for them when practacing the religion of Allah}: “Is excuting the punishments.” As for Allah’s saying {Let a party from believers witness their torment} The party is a single person.”[51]
* Ali bin Babawaih states in Fokoh Al-Rida (Pbuh) Book: If the fornicator was caught naked, he is thumped naked. If he was caught wearing a garment, he is thumped wearing it.” [52]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Abou Baseer from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “ Half of the woman is burried when they want to stone her. The first one to stone is the Imam and then people with small stones.” [53]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Boriad Al-Ijli that Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) was asked about a man who raped a woman. He (Pbuh) said: “He is killed either he was married or not.” [54]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Abou Baseer from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “If a fornicator fornicates three times, he is punished by thumping three times. If he fornicated for the forth time he must be killed.” [55]
* Ali bin Babawaih states in Fokoh Al-Rida Book: In winter, the punishments aren’t executed in the afternoon and in summer it isn’t executed at noon when it is too hot. It is executed when the weather cools. Executing the pumishment on he who still has the marks of a previous punishment isn’t done.” [56]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Himran that he asked Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh): “Is he punished in the Hereafter he who was stoned in Donia?” Imam (Pbuh) said: “Allah is more generous than doing that.” [57]
