Imam Ali Bin Mousa Al-Rida (pbuh) stated on Ghadeer Day: "My father Al-Hadi told me that his father Al-Sadiq told him that Al-Baqir told him that Sayyid Al-Abideen told him that his father Al-Hussein said: "Once in Ameer Elmo'mineen's life, Ghadeer day came ona Friday. So he went up his pulpit and delivered a sermon for 5 hours. He praised Allah and exalted Him in a way that no one has heard before, until he said: "I testify that Mohammad is His servant and messenger. He chose him since the first realm over all nations by His knowledge. He is unique with neither similarity nor comparison with any one from his kind. Allah has chosen him to be His commander and the prohibitor. Allah established him at His level of order in all His realms, for He can't be seen, nor thought of nor imagined in the secrecy of minds; there is no God but Him the Almighty King. Allah linkedthe admittance of His Divinity to the admittance of his prophecy. Allah dignified and honored him to anextent no one of His creations received, for he is worthy of that by his peculiarity and closenessfor Allah doesn’t grant peculiarity to those who are subjected to alterations and doesn't make those who have doubts close to Him. Allah ordered us to send our prayersupon him as more honor for him and a way for the pleader to be answered. Thus Allah bestowed his prayers upon him, greatly honored, dignified and glorified him to an extent cannot be refuted nor would it end for all eternity.""
Ameer Elmo'mineen (Pbuh) said in his Qasi'a Sermon:"I was with him (Pbuhp) when a group of Quraishi men came to him and said: "O Mohammad, you claimed a great matter that neither one of your forefathers nor your family has claimed before. We will ask you something, if you answer and show us, we will know that you are a prophet and a messenger and if you do not, then we will know that you are a liar and a magician." He (Pbuhp) said: "what is it that you ask?" They said: "Ask this tree to uproot itself, come and stand before you." He (Pbuhp) said: "Allah is capable of everything. If Allah did that for you, then will you believe and testify by the truth." They said: "yes." He (Pbuhp) said: "I will show you what you ask, even though I know you are up to no good, have evilness among you, and some of you will gather men in parties against me." Thereafter, he (Pbuhp) said: "O Tree, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day and know that I am the Messenger of Allah, then uproot yourself, come and stand before me by the permission of Allah." I swear by He who sent him with the truth, the tree uprooted itself and came to him making a thunderous sound as the sound of flapping wings, until it stood before the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) and then it dropped its highest branch on the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) and some of its branches on my shoulder as I was on his right. When they saw this, they said out of arrogance and pride: "Order it to bring only one half to you and let the other stay where it is." He (Pbuhp) ordered it and so one half came to him in a more wondrous way and louder sound and it nearly surrounded him. Hence, they said out of disbelief and haughtiness: "Ask this half to go back to its other half as it was before." So he (Pbuhp) ordered it and so it went back. Thus I said: "There is no God but Allah, I am the first one to believe in you O Messenger of Allah and the first one to admit that the tree did that by the commands of Allah to prove your prophecy and as an honor to your words." They said: "No, he is a magician and a liar. He is so strangely good in magic and none would believe him but a man like this." They meant me.""[1]
Imam Abou Abdellah (pbuh) said: "A Jewcalled Sabakht came to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) and said to him: "O Mohammad, I came to ask you about your Lord. If you answer the questions that I will ask about Him, I will follow you or else I will return." He (Pbuhp) said: "Ask what you want." Sabakht said: "Where is your Lord?" He (Pbuhp): "He is everywhere yet He is not limited by a place." He said: "How is He?" He (Pbuhp): "How can I describe my Lord by "How" when "How" is created by Allah and Allah cannot be described by his creations." The man said: "Who knows that you are a prophet?" Hence, the stones, soil and everything around him said with a clear Arabic tongue: "O Sheikh, he is the Messenger of Allah." Thus Sabakht said: "By Allah, I have never seen a day clearer than this," and then he said: "I testify that there is no God but Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah (pbuhp).""[2]
It is reported that the Messenger of Allah was among his companions and then an Arabian came hiding a lizard that he hunted in his sleeve. So this man asked: "Who is this man?" They said: "He is the prophet." He said: "I swear by the idols:Lat and Ozza, I detest no one more than I detest you and I would have killed you right now but I don't want my people to accuse me of being hasty." He (Pbuhp) said: "What made you say this? Believe in me." He said: "I will not believe in you, unless this lizard believes in you," andthrew the lizard on the ground. So the Prophet (Pbuhp): "O Lizard." The lizard replied in a clear Arabic tongue: "At your beck and call,O utmost beauty on the Day of Resurrection." He (Pbuhp) said: "Whom do you worship?" It said: "He whose Throne is in the sky and dominion is on earth, whose way is in the sea, mercy is in Heaven and punishment is in Hell." He (Pbuhp) said: "O Lizard, who am I?" It said: "You are the Messenger of the Lord of all realms and the Last Prophet. He who believes in you succeeds and he who belies you fails." Thereafter, the Arabian mansaid: "I shall never follow a trace anymore but after seeing a clear proof. I came to you detesting you more than anyone else on earth yet now I love you more than myself and parents. I testify that there is no God but Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah," and then the man returned to his people and told them the story so a thousand of them believed."[3]
Imam Ali Bin Al-Hussein (Pbuh) said: "When the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) was sent as a preacher, warner and a caller to Allah by His permission and a shining lantern. Crowds started heading for himand many opponents sought solving their disputes by him; some of them were seeking the truth and rightfully wanting to acknowledge what the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) shows them of his signs and miracles. Thus the Messenger of Allah becomes the most beloved and venerated by their hearts. Yet others were obstinate who deny what they know and belie arrogantly what they understand. Those are cursed and damned and they took the form of obstinateness so they are knowledgeable in the image of ignorance. Among those who came to the Messenger of Allah to argue and oppose him were arrogant obstinate parties and just understanding parties. Seven of them were Jews, five were Christians, four were Sa'ibies, ten were Majous, ten were Thanawies, ten Barahimies, ten were Dahiries, and twenty were Arab polytheists who were gathered in a house before heading for the Messenger of Allah's house in which righteous Muslims like Ammar Bin Yasir, Khoubab Bin Al-Art, Al-Mokdad Bin Al-Aswad and Bilal were gathered. Some of the disbelievers started to talk about the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) and how he claims having miracles and signs. Some said: "There are some of his companions in his house. Let us ask them about him before we see him so that they might tell us something about his honesty and lies." Thus they came to them. The companions welcomed them. They said: "are you companions of Mohammad?" The companions said: "Yes, we are the companions of Mohammad, the Master of the First and last beings who is specialized with the best intercessions at the Day of Verdict. When Allah resurrects all His prophets, they will all testify that they benefited from his knowledge and learned from his wisdom. Allah ended the prophets, completed morals and perfected beauties by him." So they asked: "What did Mohammad order you to do?" They said: "He ordered us to only worship Allah without worshiping any other peer with Him, establish Prayer (Salat) and give charity (Zakat), visit our relatives, be fair to people, don’t treat people the way we do not like to be treated, believe and admit that Mohammad is the Master of the First and last beings; that Ali (pbuh), his brother, is the Master of custodians and that his kind progeny are the ones specialized by Imamate, the Imams of all people whom Allah obliged us to obey, follow and be loyal to." Thus they asked: "O you, these are matters that can't be recognized but by clear arguments, apparent signs and proofs. One can't oblige people to accept this but by a flag that leads to it and a true sign that guides to it. So did you see such signs that astonished you and proofs that obliged you to believe?" The companions said: "By Allah, yes indeed. We have seen incontrovertible things that no one can deny and if denied, then there will be no escape or refuge from the torment of Allah. Thus we realized that he is the one holding the messages of Allah, aided by the signs of Allah and the one dignified by what Allah only gave him like no one else of Divine Knowledge." They asked: "What did you see?" Ammar said: "As for what I have seen, I went to him still having doubts about him and said: "O Mohammad, there is no way to believe in you as long as there is doubt in my heart about you. So is there any proof?" Mohammad (Pbuhp) said: "Yes, there is." Ammar said: "What is it?" He (Pbuhp): "On your way home, ask all the stones and trees you see about me. They will tell you that they believe in my message and testify that I am the prophet." On my way home, I asked every stone and tree I saw: "O stone, O tree, Mohammad claims that you will testify that he is the prophet and declare that you believe in his message. So what do you say about that?" The trees and stones spoke and said: "I testify that Mohammad (Pbuhp) is the Messenger of our Lord."""[4]
* Sharaf Al-Deen Al-Husseiny states in Ta'weel Al-Ayat: Imam Abou Al-Hassan The Third (Pbuh) stated that he was asked about this saying of Allah {So that Allah forgives your past sins and the ones that shall come}. So the Imam (Pbuh) said: "What past or late sin did the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) commit!? It is the sins of the followers of Ali (Pbuh) the past and coming ones with which Allahburdened him and then He remitted them all."[5]
* Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Qummi states in his Tafseer Book: Amr bin Yazeed Baya' Al-Sabiri reported that he asked Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) about this saying of Allah {So that Allah remits your past sins and the ones that shall come}. Imam (Pbuh) said: "He neither had a sin nor intended to commit one, yet Allah burdened him with the sins of Ali's followers and then remitted them for him."[6]
* Qotob Al-Deen Al-Rawandi states in Al-Khara'ij Wa Al-Jara'ih Book: Fatima Bint Assad reported that when Abdel-Moutalib was about to die, he told his children: "Who will take care of Mohammad?" They said: "He is keener than us so let him choose." So Abdel-Moutalib said: "O Mohammad, your grandfather is about to travel to the Hereafter. Whom among your uncles and aunts do you want to be entrusted to?" So Mohammad looked at their faces and then went towards Abou Talib. So Abdel-Moutalib told him: "O Abou Talib, I have known your faith and loyalty, so be to him as I was to him." Fatima Bint Assad continues saying: "When he died, Abou Talib took him. I used to servehim and he used to call me 'mother'. There were palm trees in the garden of our house. It was the beginning of the harvest season of dates, so forty boys of the age of Mohammad (Pbuhp) used to come every day and pick up the dates that are on the ground. I never saw Mohammad (Pbuhp) taking a date from a boy's hand that he picked before even though all of them used to snatch dates from the hands of each other. I used to pick up a bunch of dates for Mohammad (Pbuhp) every day and so did my maid. It happened that one day both I and my maid forgot to gather some dates for him (pbuhp). Mohammad (Pbuhp) was asleep when the boys came into the garden, took all the dates and left. I slept and covered my face with my sleeve because I felt shy of Mohammad (Pbuhp). He woke up, went to the garden and did notfind any date on the ground, so he left. The maid told him: "We forgot to pick up some dates. The boys came in and took all the dates that were on the ground." Mohammad (Pbuhp) went to the garden and pointed at the tree with his hand and said: "O tree, I'm hungry." I saw the tree lower its branches that held dates until Mohammad (Pbuhp) ate as much as he pleased and then it rose back as it was. I wondered how that happened. Abou Talib wasn’t at home. Whenever he returns everyday, I tell the maid to open the door for him when he knocks. Yet, this time when he knocked, I ran towards him barefooted, opened the door and told him what I saw. So he told me: "He is a prophet and you will give birth to his custodian after thirty years." So she gave birth to Ali (Pbuh) as he said."
* Mohammad bin Al-Hassan Al-Saffar states in Basa'er Al-Darajat Book:Jaa'far Bin Mohammad Al-Soufy reported that he asked Imam Abou Jaa'far Mohammad Bin Ali Al-Rida (Pbuh): " O son of the Messenger of Allah, why was the Prophet named Omy?" He (pbuh) said:" What do people say?" I said:" My I be sacrificed for your sake, they claim that he was named so, because he couldn't write." Thus, he (pbuh) said:" They lied, may Allah's damnation be upon them! How could that be and Allah, the All-Blessed and Most High, said in His Book:{He is the One Whohas sent to the Omyeen a messenger from amongst them. He recites to them His verses, purifies them and teaches them the Book and teaches them wisdom.} How could he teach them what he did not master! By Allah! The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) used to read and write in seventy two or seventy three tongues. Verily, he was named Omy, because he was from Mecca that was one of the Om Al-Qora (Arabic for the Mother of All villages), which this saying of Allah Almighty states in His Book:{in order to warn the Om Al-Qora and the ones around it.}"[7]
* Mohammad bin Al-Hassan Al-Saffar states in Al-Basa'er Book: Abou Al-Sabbah Al-Kanani reported from Imam Abou Jaa'far (Pbuh) that he said that his father (Pbuh) told him, reporting from whom he mentioned: "The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) came out to us carrying a book in his right hand and a book in his left. He opened the book that is in his right hand and read: "In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful. This is the book of the inhabitants of Heaven. They are written by their names and their fathers' names. They will not increase by one nor decrease by one." Thereafter, he (Pbuhp) opened the book that is in his left hand and said: "In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful. This is the book of the inhabitants of Hell. They are written by their names, their fathers' names and their tribes' names. They will not increase by one nor decrease by one.""
* Tafseer Al-Imam Al-Askari (Pbuh) Book:The Imam (Pbuh) said: "The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) used to deliver his sermons leaning on the trunk of a palm tree in Al-Madina City and in the court of its Mosque. Thus, some of his companions said to him:" O Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp)! People have increased and they would love to look at you while you deliver your sermon, so could you give us permission to make you a pulpit, having steps which you could climb on and thus people would see you while you deliver your sermon?" He gave them permission and when Friday came, he (Pbuhp) passed by the trunk while heading to the pulpit which he mounted. When he settled on it, the trunk yearned for him like a mourning mother and moaned like a pregnant women, so the voices of people rose with weeping, yearning and mourning. The Yearning and moaning of the trunk increased along with the yearning and moaning of the people very clearly. Therefore, when the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) saw that, he descended from that pulpit and went to that trunk, embraced it, passed his hand along it and said:" Calm down! The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) hasn't crossed you to underestimate you or degrade your sanctity, but he did that for the good of the people. However, you have glory and virtue for you were what Mohammad, the Messenger of Allah, used to lean on." Thus, its yearning and moaning calmed down, so the Messenger returned to his pulpit and said:" O Muslims! This trunk yearns for the Messenger of the Lord of the Realms and grievesover its distance from him, yet there are amongst the servants of Allahwho oppress themselves and don't care whether the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) is close or far from them. If I hadn't embraced this trunk and passed my hand over it, it wouldn't have stopped yearning and moaning until the Day of Resurrection! Indeed, there are among the servantsof Allah who yearn for Mohammad, the Messenger of Allah, and Ali, the Custodian of Allah, like the yearning of this trunk. It is enough for a believer to have a heart devoted to obedienceto Mohammad, Ali and their kind and pure household."[8]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Toussi states in Al-Amali Book: Ibn Abbas reported that he said: "We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) when Trusted Jibraeel descended to him (pbuhp), carrying a vessel of red crystalfilled with Musk and Amber. Next to him (Pbuhp) were Ali Bin Abi Talib (Pbuh) and his two sons Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein (Pbut). So Jibraeel said: "Peace be upon you. Allah sends his peace upon you. He greets you by this greeting and orders you to greet Ali and his sons by this greeting." When the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) grabbed the vessel, he said Tahleel (There is no god but Allah) three times and Takbeer (Allah is the greatest) three times and thenthe vessel said in an eloquent tongue: "In the name of Allah the Most Gracious The Most Merciful {Taha* We didn’t sendthe Quran to you to distress you}." So the Holy Prophet (Pbuhp) smelled it and gave it to Ali (Pbuh). When it was put in Ali's hands (Pbuh), it said "In the name of Allah the Most Gracious The Most Merciful {Indeed, your Waly (Divine Guardian) is Allah, His Messenger, and the ones who believed who establish Prayer and give Zakat whilekneeling in worship}." He smelled it and then gave it to Al-Hassan (Pbuh). When it was put in Al-Hassan's hands (Pbuh), it said "In the name of Allah the Most Gracious The Most Merciful {Concerning what are they disputing* Concerning the great event* About which they have different opposite opinions}." So he smelled it and gave it to Al-Hussein (Pbuh). When it was put in Al-Hussein's hands (Pbuh), it said: "In the name of Allah the Most Gracious The Most Merciful {Say: "I ask you no reward for it but loving the close kin. He who does a good deed shall be granted more good, for Allah is Oft-Forgiving and Oft-Thanking}." Thereafter, when it returned to the holy prophet's hands (Pbuhp), it said: "In the name of Allah the Most Gracious The Most Merciful {Allah is the Light of the Skies and Earth}.""[9]
* Qotob Al-Deen Al-Rawandi states in Al-Khara'ij Wal Jara'ih Book:It was reported that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) once was sitting next to theKaa'ba while Quraish were in their gatherings chatting. They told each other: "Mohammad (Pbuhp) tired us. We don’t know what to say about him." Some of them said: "Let us go and ask him to show us a sign from the sky. For magic might only be done on earth and not in the sky." So, they went to him and said: "O Mohammad, if what we see from you is not Magic, then show us a miracle in the sky. For we know that magic cannot be done in the sky as it is done on earth." He (Pbuhp) told them: "Do you see this fourteenth-day full moon?" They said: "Yes." He (Pbuhp) said: "Do you want the sign to be on the Moon?" They said: "Yes." Thus he pointed at it with his finger and so it was split into two halves. The First fell on the Kaa'ba and the other half on Abi Qubays Mountain before their eyes. Some said: "Bring it back together." Hence, he pointed with his hand at the half that was on the Kaa'ba and at the other half with his other hand and thus the two parts flew, were joined back in the air and the moon was settled back in its first place. They said: "Let us go. Mohammad's magic is in the sky and on earth." Therefore,Allah revealed this verse: {The hour came near and the Moon was split* If they see a sign, they deny it and say that it is continuous magic.}[10]
* Mohammad Bin Jareer Al-Tabari states in Nawadir Al-Mojizat: Ismaeel Al-Jo'afi reported that he said: "I was sitting in the Sacred Mosque as Imam Abou Jaa'far Mohammad Bin Ali (Pbut) was sitting on the other side. He raised his head towards the sky once and then towards the Kaa'ba and said: "{Immaculate is He who carried His servant on a journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Further Mosque (Al-Aqsa) that we blessed around it}" He repeated this three times and then turned to me and said: "O Iraqi, what do people of Iraq say about this verse?" I said: "They say that Allah carried him by night from the Sacred Mosque to Bayt Al-Maqdis." The Imam said: "It is not like what they say. He was carried from the earth to this," and he pointed at the sky. When Allah willed to be visited by His prophet (Pbuhp), He sent him three of the greatest angels: Jibraeel, Mikaeel and Israfeel who raised him with one of the rides of Allah called Buraq. Jibraeel held its stirrups, Mikaeel held its reins and Israfeel held his clothes(Pbuhp). So they rose in the air. The earthly sky, second, third and fourth skies opened before them. There, he met Ibrahim (pbuh) who told him: "O Mohammad, deliver our greetings to your nation and tell them that the inhabitants of Heaven miss them." They ascended more in the air and thus the fifth and sixth skies were opened. So they gathered in the seventh sky and then they rose in the air until he reached the Sudrat Al-Muntaha (Final Destination) and it is the place where Jibraeel stopped after the other two companions left beforeand he left him there. The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) felt relieved with Jibraeel like no one else. When Jibraeel stopped, he (Pbuhp) said: "O Jibraeel, will you leave me here?"
He said: "Move forward. I swear to Allah, you have reached a place where no creation has reached before you." Thereafter, Allah said: "O Mohammad." He (Pbuhp) said: "I am at your beck and call O Lord." Allah said: "About what are they disputing in the highest realm?" He (pbuhp) said: "I have no knowledge but what you taught me." Thereafter, he put his hand on his chest and ، فوجد بردها بين كتفيه. The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said that Allah said: "O Mohammad, who is your custodian?" He (pbuhp) said: "O Lord, I tested all your creations and found no one more obedient to methan Ali." Allah said: "and to me." He (pbuhp) said: "O Lord, I tested all your creations and found no one who is a better advisor than Ali." Allah said: "Me too." He (pbuhp) said: "I found no one who has love for me more than Ali." Allah said: "and for me." Tell him that he is the banner of guidance, the Imam of my saints, the Light of who obeyed me and the word that I stipulated in the pious ones. He who loves him loves me and he who detests him detests me, even though I have a particular ordeal for him that I did not inflict on anyone else." He (pbuhp) said: "O Lord, My brother, companion and inheritor!" Allah said: "I have prior knowledge which is that he will be afflicted and people will be afflicted by him, even though I gave him four matters: Knowledge, comprehension, wisdom, and forbearance.""[11]
* Al-Allama Al-Majlisi states in Al-Bihar Book:Ali Bin Mo'amar reported from his father that he asked Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) about this saying of Allah {This is a warnerfrom among the warners of the first times}. TheImam (Pbuh) said: "He is Mohammad (Pbuhp), he asked them to believe in Allah in the first atom realm."[12]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Abou Hafsa Al-Ijli reported from Imam Abou Jaa'far (Pbuh) that he said: "The Messenger of Allah (pbuhp) had three attributes that no one else had: He did not have a shadow; when he passed through a road, his pleasantscent would remain for 2 or 3 days and so when people passed, they knew that he passed through that road; whenever he passed by a stone or a tree, it indeed prostrated before him."
It was reported that Jaber had a well containing bitter water. Once, Jaber complained his thirst to the Prophet (pbuhp). Thus he (pbuhp) asked for a container, washed his feet in it and then ordered them to pour that water in it. Hence, its water became fresh and sweet."
Imam Abou Abdellah (pbuh) said: "There are people who believe by words but there are people who do not believe but by seeing. A man once came to the Prophet Mohammad (Pbuhp) and said: "Show me a sign." Thus the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) ordered two trees to become one and so they did and then he ordered them to separate one another. So,they did and each onereturned to its place. Hence, the man believed.
* Qotob Al-Deen Al-Rawandi states in Al-Khara'ij Wal Jara'ih Book: It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) once called a deer, so it came to him. He ordered that it would be slaughtered. Thus they slaughtered, roasted it and ate its flesh but they did not break any bone. Thereafter, he (Pbuhp) ordered them to spread his skin and place the bones in the middle. Hence, the deer came back to lifeand started grazing."[13]
* Ibn Shaher Ashoub states in Al-Manaqib Book: It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) once leaned on a dry tree, thus it directly grew leaves and fruits."[14]
* Ibn Shaher Ashoub states in Al-Manaqib Book: It is reported that when the Holy Prophet (Pbuhp) was on his way to war against Al-Maqmaa' Bin Al-Hamesaa' Al-Banahani, he encountered a huge mountain that tires the legs and makes horses stop. When the Muslims reached there, they complained to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) about this matter and the weariness that they will suffer on it. Thus the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) recited some prayers and so the mountain melted and broke downinto pieces.[15]
* Tafseer Al-Imam Al-Askari (Pbuh) Book: He (Pbuh) said that Imam Ali Bin Mohammad (Pbut) said: "As for when he (Pbuhp) called the tree, it is because a man from Thaqeef, called Al-Hareth Bin Kilda Al-Thaqafi, who was the best doctor among the people then came to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) and said: "O Mohammad, I came to cure you from you craziness, for I have treated a lot of crazy people and they were cured by my hands." The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: "O Hareth, you are acting like crazy people, yet claiming I am crazy!" Al-Hareth said: "What acts of craziness have I done?" He (Pbuhp): "You related craziness to me with neither proof nor prior experience. Nor did you check my honesty or dishonesty!" Al-Hareth said: "How come. I have realized you were crazy and lying when you claimed to be a prophet which you are not capable of being." The Messenger of Allah said: "Saying that I am not capable of being one is also an act of craziness on your part. For you didn’t ask me for a reason; asking why I said this and you did not ask me to show you a sign that I could not provoke." Al-Hareth said: "You are right. I will test you by this miracle that I will ask you to make. If you are a prophet ask this tree to come to you – pointing at a huge tree with deep roots- If it came, then you will prove to me that you are the Messenger of Allah and I will admit that, or else you are a mad man just like I have been told."
Thus the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) pointed at the tree by his hand and ordered it to come. So the tree uprooted itself and came cleaving a ditch through the land in the shape of a great river until it became near the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp). It stood before him and said loudly and clearly: "Here I am O Messenger of Allah, May Allah's prayers be upon you, what are your commands?" The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: "I called you here so that you would testify your faith in my prophecy after your testimony of faith in Monotheism of Allah (Tawhid), testify the Imamate of Ali (Pbuh) afterwards and then testify that he is my aid, my back, my pillar, my pride and my glory; and if it hadn’t been for him, Allah wouldn’t have created any of his creations." So it said: "I testify that there is no God but Allah; that you, Mohammad, are his servant and messenger. He sent you by the truth to preach and warn and guide to him by His permission and to be a shining lantern. I testify that Ali your cousin is your brother in faith, the one who had the greatest share of Allah's religion, the one who will be rewarded the most. I testify that he is your aid and back who annihilates your enemies and advocates your followers and that he is the Door of your knowledge in your nation. I also testify that your followers who are loyal to him and declare enmity to his enemies will be among the occupiers of Heaven and your enemies who are loyal to his enemies and declare enmity to his followers will be among the occupiers of Hell." Thereafter, the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) looked at Al-Hareth and told him: "Is he who makes such miracles considered a crazy man?" Hence, Al-Hareth said: "No, O Messenger of Allah. I testify that you are the Messenger of the Lord of all realms and that you are the Master of all creations," and he became a good Muslim afterwards."[16]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Ma'ani Al-Akhbar Book: Anas Bin Malik reported that he said: "One day, Abou Thar went to the Mosque of the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) and said: "I have never seen a matter like the one I saw yesterday." They said: "What did you see yesterday?" He said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) standing by his door. He left at night with Ali Bin Abi Talib (Pbuh). They both went to Al-Baqee'. I followed them until they reached the cemeteries of Mecca. He (Pbuhp) Headed to his father's grave and prayed there. Thereafter, the grave split and then I saw Abdellah sitting and saying: "I testify that there is no God but Allah, and that Mohammad is his servant and messenger." Thus he (Pbuhp) said: "Who is your Waly (Divine Guardian and Master)?" He said: "What is the Waly?" He (Pbuhp) said: "This is him, Ali." He said: "And that Ali is my Waly." The Messenger of Allah told him: "Return to your grave." Afterward, he went to his mother's grave, Amina, and did the same thing that he did by his father's grave. The grave split and she said: "I testify that there is no God but Allah and that you are the Prophet of Allah and His Messenger." He (pbuhp) said: "Who is your Waly, O Mother?" She said: "What is the Wilaya, O son?" He said: "This is him, Ali Bin Abi Talib." She said: "And that Ali is my Waly." Thus he said: "Return to your grave."" The people belied him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, this man lied about you today." The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: "What did he say?" They said: "Jundub (Abu Thar) said this about you." Thus the Prophet (Pbuhp) said: "Neither did any greens shade nor did any land carry a man more honest than Abou Thar." Thereafter, Abdelsalam Bin Mohammad said: " I asked Al-Hajami Mohammad Bin Abela'ala about this incident so he said: "Don’t you know that Prophet (Pbuhp) said that Jibraeel came to him and told him: "Allah forbade fire to touch a seed you were begotten from, a womb that carried you, a breast that fed you and a lap that raised you.""[17]
* Al-Rawandi states in Qisas Al-Anbia: Ibrahim Bin Abdela'ala reported from Imam Moussa Bin Jaa'far (Pbuh) from his forefathers (Pbut) that they said: "The companions of the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) were sitting talking and Ameer Elmo'mineen (Pbuh) was among them. Thereafter, a Jew came to them and said: "O people of Mohammad, you have taken every rank of theprophets and related it to your prophet." Thus Ameer Elmo'mineen (Pbuh) said: "If you claim that Allah spoke to Moussa in Tour Sinai, thenAllah spoke to Mohammad in the Forth sky. If the Christians claim that Issa cured the mute and revived the dead, thenMohammad (pbuhp) was asked by men from Quraish to revive a dead manso he sent me with them to the cemeteries. I pleaded Allah and thus they rose from their graves wiping the dust off their heads by the permission of Allah. Abou Qutada Bin Rab'ee Al-Ansari was in the battle of Ruqaa; he was very deeply stabbed in his eye to the extent that his eyeball came out.So he carried his eye and went to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) and told him: "My wife will hate me after this." Thus the Messenger of Allah took it from his hand and placed it back in its place. Now, people differentiate the two eyes from one another by the beauty, light and charm of that eye (the one touched by the Prophet). Furthermore, Abdellah Bin Ateeq's hand was cut offsohe went to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) at night carrying his hand. Hence, the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) wiped with his hand the cut off hand and thus it returned as it was."[18]
* Mohammad bin Al-Hassan Al-Saffar states in Basa'er Al-Darajat: Al-Najari reported that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp), Sahel Bin Haneef and Khaled Bin Ayoub Al-Ansari once crossed one of the walls of Banu Najjar. When they crossed, a stone on top of the well yelled: "Peace be upon you O Mohammad, intercede with your lord for me so thatI would not be among the stones of Hell by which He torments the disbelievers." The Prophet (Pbuhp) raised his hands and said: "O Allah, do notlet this stone be among the stones of Hell." Afterwards, the sand called him and said: "May Allah's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you, O Mohammad. Ask your Lord not to let me be among the sulfur that ignites Hell." So the Prophet (Pbuhp) raised his hand and said: "O Allah, do not let this sand be among the sulfur that ignites Hell." When the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) came near a palm tree, its branches leaned, so the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) ate and gave some to those with him. Afterwards,he approacheda date tree. When it sensed him, it prostrated and so he (Pbuhp) blessed her and said: "O Allah, bless it and make it beneficial."
* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Aban reported from Abou Baseer from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: "In That Al-Ruqaa' Battle, the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) stood under a tree on the edge of a cliff. A torrent flowed and separated him from his companions. The Muslims were standing by the torrent waiting for it to stop. So a polytheist saw him and told his people: "I will kill Mohammad." So he initiated an assault against the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) with his sword and said: "Who will save you from me now O Mohammad?" He (Pbuhp) said: "My Lord and your Lord." Thus Jibraeel pushed him down from his horse and so he fell on his back on the ground. Thus the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) took the sword, sat on his chest and said: "Who will save you from me now O Ghawrath." He said: "Your generosity and kindness, O Mohammad" Thus the Messenger of Allah stood and left while the man was saying: "I swear to Allah, you are indeed greater and more generous than me.""[19]
* Qotob Al-Deen Al-Rawandi states in Al-Khara'ij Wal Jara'ih Book: It is reported that one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) injured his eye in one of the battles. His eye fell on his cheek, so he came to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) seeking aid. Thus he (Pbuhp) took it and placed it back where it was. It became more pleasant and sharper than the other eye."
* Ibn Shaher Ashoub states in Al-Manaqib Book: Jaafar Bin Nastour Al-Rumi said:"Iwas with Prophet Mohammad (Pbuhp) during Tabouk Invasion. His whip fell on the ground, so Idescended from my horse and handed it to him. So he (Pbuhp) looked at him and said: "O Jaafar, may Allah prolong your age."" Thus Jaafar lived for three hundred and twenty years. The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) also said to the the genius who praised him: "May Allah bless your mouth." So this man lived for one hundred and thirty years and whenever a tooth fell,it was replaced by a new and better one.[20]
* Al-Allama Al-Majlisi states in Al-Bihar Book: Abou Huraira reported that he said: "We prayed the noon prayer with the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp). Thereafter, he turned to us with his glorious face and started talking to us and then a man from the Advocates came and said: "The dog of that Christian man ripped my cloak and bit my leg. So it prevented me from praying with you." On the other day a man from the Companions came and said: "The dog of that Christian man ripped my cloak and bit my leg. So it prevented me from praying with you." The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: "If the dog is an evil dog, it should be killed." He stood up and so we did and went to that man's home. Anas knocked on the door. The Man said: "Who is this?" Anas said: "The Prophet (Pbuhp)." So the man rushed, opened the door, came out to the prophet (Pbuhp) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, May my father and mother be sacrificed for your sake, what brought you to me for I am not a follower of your religion? If you asked for me, I would have come myself." The Prophet (Pbuhp) said: "There is a matter that is to be finished. Your dog is an evil dog and it should be killed. It has ripped the clothes of a man and bit his leg and it did the same to another man today." The man tied a rope around the neck of his dog and brought it to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp). When the dog saw the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp), it said with an eloquent tongue by the permission of Allah: "Peace be upon you O Messenger of Allah, why did you come here and why do you want to kill me?" The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: "You ripped the clothes of those two men and bit them in their legs." The dog said: "O Messenger of Allah, those two men that you mentioned are hypocrites and Nasebies. They detest your cousin Ali Bin Abi Talib (Pbuh). If there were not like that, I wouldn’t have attacked them. But they were rejecting Ali and cursing him. So my ardor overwhelmed me and made me do this to them." When the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) heard this from the dog, he ordered its owner to take care of it very well. When he was about to leave, the Christian stood up and said to him: "Are you leaving now after my dog had testified and witnessed that you are the Messenger of Allah and that Ali is the custodian of Allah." Thus the man adopted Islam and so did everyone inhis home."[21]
* Al-Sheikh Al-Tobrosi states in I'lam Al-Wara Book: It is reported that on Bader Battle the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) took a handful of pebbles and threw it in the faces of the polytheists and said: "May the faces be distressed!" So Allah increased the pebbles greatly and thus theyfilledthe eyes of every polytheist. Therefore, the Muslims and angels started killing and captivating them. They found every one of themoccupied by removing the sand from his eyes not knowing where to go."[22]
* Al-Sayyid Ibn Tawous Al-Husseiny states in Sa'ed Al-Saoud Book: Ammar Bin Yaser repoRted that he told the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp): "I wish you wouldlive among us as long asNouh." He (Pbuhp) said: "O Ammar, my life is good for you, and my death is not bad for you. During my life, you commit sins and I ask forgiveness for you. After my death, fear Allah and send your prayers upon me and my household. You will be displayed before me with your names and tribes, if it were good I thank Allah, and if it were bad I ask Allah to remit your sins." Then some hypocrites and doubters said: "He claims that our acts will be displayed before him after his death in the names of men and the names of their fathers and lineage. This is the true infidelity" Thus Allah descended this verse: {say: work, and Allah will see your acts and his Messenger and the faithful believers} One asked: "Who are the faithful believers?" He (Pbuhp) said: " There are common faithful believers and specific ones. But the ones specified in this verse are the Imams of AL Mohammad (Pbut) {you will be brought back to the All-knowing of the Unseen and Seen, and he will tell you what you have been doing} of obeying Allah and disobeying him."[23]
* Qotob Al-Deen Al-Rawandi states in Al-Khara'ij Wal Jara'ih Book: It is reported that Jaber said: "When the parties of Arabs gathered for Al-Khandaq Battle, the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) consulted the Immigrants (Mohajereen) and Advocates (Al-Ansar). Regarding that, Salman said: "The non-Arabs (Persians) used to dig trenches around their lands when they faced such a war. Thus they limited the battle to one side." So Allah inspired the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) to do as Salman said. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (pbuhp) drew a trench around Al-Medina City and divided it among the Immigrants and the Advocates. Each ten of them had to dig ten arms (ells). A huge rock that couldn’t be broken not even by axes appeared on the line drawn for the trench. So my companions sent me to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) to tell him about it. I saw him lying when I reached him and he had tied a stone to his abdomen. I told him about the rock, so he rushed towards the water, put some in his mouth and then sprayed it on the rock. Afterwards, he hit the center of the rock with an axe one hit that sparked. Thus the Muslims saw Yemen and its lands through it. He hit it another hit that sparked and thus Muslims saw through it the castles of Iraq, Persia and its cities and then he hit it for the third time, so it smashed into pieces. The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: "What did you see through every spark?" They said: "We saw this through the first, that through the second and that through the third." He (Pbuhp) said: "Allah will inspire you through what you saw."
Jaber continued saying: "I had some barley and a sheep in my house, so I went to my wife and said: "I saw a stone on the abdomen of the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp). I think he is hungry, so if we cook this barley and sheep and invite the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp), we will gain closeness to Allah. She said: "Go and inform him. If he accepts, we will directly do this." Thus I went and said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, I want to invite you to launch at our house today." He said: "What do you have?" I said: "Barley and sheep." He said: "Shall I come alone or with whom I love?" I did not want to tell him to come alone, so I said: "Come with whom you love." I thought he would bring Ali with him. I went back to my wife and told her: "Cook the barley and I will slaughter the sheep." We cut the sheep into pieces and placed it in a cooking pot with water and salt and my wife baked the bread. Thereafter, I went to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we cooked the food." So the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) stood on the edge of the trench and yelled as loud as he could: "O Muslims Answer Jaber's invitation." Hence, all the Immigrants and advocates walked behind him and he (pbuh) didn't pass by anyone of the people of the city on the way without saying: "Answer Jaber's invitation." Thus I rushed to my wife and told her: "We are not able to feed those who are coming over," and I told her about the many people who are coming. So she said: "Did you not tell the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) what we have for launch?" I said: "Yes I did." She said: "It is alright. He knows what he is doing." My wife thought in a more reasonable way than me. The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) ordered the people to sit outside the house and he came in along with Ali. He looked at the furnace where the bread was being baked and then spit in it. Afterwards, he uncovered the cooking pot, looked inside and then said to my wife: "Take out the bread from the furnace loaf by loaf and pass them to me one by one." So she started passing the loaves to him (pbuhp) one by one while he and Ali were soaking each loaf with the broth in the pot. Whenever she took a loaf of bread, she found another one in the same place. Thereafter, he poured from the broth on the bread and said: "Let ten men come in." So they ate until they became full, yet the broth remained as it was. Afterwards, he (Pbuhp) said: "O Jaber, bring me the arm of the sheep," and then he said: "Let ten people come in." So they came in, ate until they became full, yet the broth remained as it was. He (Pbuhp) said: "O Jaber, bring me the arm of the sheep," and then he said: "Let ten people come in." So they came in, ate until they became full, yet the broth remained as it was. After that, he (Pbuhp) said: " O Jaber, bring me the arm of the sheep," so I said: "How many arms does the sheep have?" He (Pbuhp) said: "It has two arms." I said: "but I brought you three arms." Thus he (pbuhp) said: "If you kept quiet, everyone would have eaten from this arm." Ten people were coming in and ten were going out, they continued that way until everyone ate. Thereafter, He (Pbuhp) said: "Come, let us eat." So I ate with Mohammad (Pbuhp) and Ali (Pbuh) and then we left. The bread in the furnace and the broth in the pot remained full as they were at first. We ate for days from them.""[24]
* Qotob Al-Deen Al-Rawandi states in Al-Khara'ij Wal Jara'ih Book: It is reported that when the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) invaded Tabouk, there were twenty five thousand Muslims, not mentioningtheir servants. He (Pbuhp) passed by a mountain that was leaking water from the top to the bottom without a torrent. They said: "How weird is that leaking!" He (Pbuhp) said: "It is crying" They said: "Do mountains cry?" He (Pbuhp): "Do you like to know why?" They said: "Yes." He (Pbuhp) said: "O Mountain, Why are you crying?" The Mountain said with an eloquent tongue that was heard by everyone: "O Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp), Issa bin Mariam passed by me as he was saying {Fire that feeds on people and stones}. So I have been crying ever since, fearing that I might be among these stones." He (Pbuhp) said: "Don’t cry anymore. You are not among those stones. Those stones are Sulfur." So the mountain stopped leaking instantlyand none could see any of thatwater or moisture anymore.
* Mohammad Bin Al-Hassan Al-Saffar states in Al-Basa'er Book: Maimoun Al-Qaddah reported from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: "The Jewish woman poisoned the Prophet (Pbuhp)with an arm meat, the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) loved eating the arm, shoulder, and hated the hip for it is near the bladder. When the roasted meat was brought to him, The Prophet (Pbuhp) ate from the arm which he loved to eat and then the arm said:"O Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) I am poisoned."So he left it. This poison kept him ill until he (Pbuhp) died because of it."[25]
Imam Al-Sadiq (Pbuhp) said:" Poison was given to the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) on the Day of Khaybar. The meat spoke and said:" O Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp), I am poisoned." Thus, the Prophet (Pbuhp) said on the day of his death:" That meal which I ate in Khaybar has cut me from the inside. Indeed, every prophet and custodian is a martyr."
